A little more about me

I’m a writer, editor, and visual artist living in middle America. I love flawed characters in tough predicaments. It doesn’t matter if stories are fiction or non-fiction, I enjoy them all as long as they are full of truth. I retired from the U.S. Air Force/Air National Guard in 2016 after serving in the Security Forces, as a photojournalist, and finally as the superintendent of Public Affairs. After that, I finally found time to finish a Master of Fine Arts in Writing from Lindenwood University. Was school worth it? You bet, but probably not for the reasons you think. I’m a life long learner who is always in a class or certification course of some kind.

I write novels for myself, but I’ve led communications, project management, and web operations for organizations and written and created visual art and publications for many others, including the USDA, Environmental Protection Agency, Northrop Grumman, U.S. Air Force, Air National Guard, RJ Media, and The Regular Joe. A few years ago, my wife and I took over The Regular Joe and rebranded it to focus on local businesses and artisans in Northwest Missouri.
